Middle Grade:

Many current books in this genre are full of ‘potty humor’ or downright offensive themes. This is particularly true for books written for tweens and teens. For this reason, I do not have an adequate list for Middle Grade. I’ll keep working on finding clean humorous books for tweens/teens. You can stay abreast of what I find by following me on Goodreads or YouTube.

• How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell

• Owls in the Family by Farley Mowat 

 

 

Young Adult:

• A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck

• Calvin and Hobbes comic books by Bill Watterson (The humor in this comic strip gets funnier the older you get.)

• The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde (This is a play. Once you’ve read the print version, watch the movie adaptation. Our favorite is the 2002 version directed by Oliver Parker.
